Is JW shunning a religious hate crime ?

Your personally free to shun anyone who you decide deserves to be cut out off your life.

But the issue as I understand it ,is when you try to influence others to shun the individual and encourage them to cut off association with the individual .

So when jws make a announcement saying touchofgrey is no longer a jws ,they are basically telling everyone who hears the announcement to shun them, that's when it could be considered a hate crime.

Which is probably why they are saying it's up to the individual to decide whether they will shun the individual or not ,but as usual they are speaking out of both sides of their mouth at the same time.

The consensus of biblical scholars is that the gospels were written around the time of and after the destruction of Jerusalem, mark around 70ce and Matthew and Luke about ten years later, so they are not books of prophecy ,so the unknown authors just recorded events that had already taken place.

today we are talking about those 3 measly so-called resurrections from nearly 2,000 years ago. I wish I had a $1 for everyone today that believes that those 3 events took place.

Can you please provide independently verified evidence that these things actually happen ,and that a miracle worker called jesus ever existed?

The four gospels were written by unknown authors many decades after the so called events so not eyewitnes accounts.

Mark circa 70ce ,Matthew and Luke about 80ce and john about 15 to 20 years later. And even then there aren't any complete copies till the 3rd century.

The earth was not designed for life ,there have been 5 mass extinctions events in the history of the earth, last one some 65 million years ago, life is very lucky to be here and we should be thankful that we get to grow old because many do not.

Its the circle of life ,the earth and the sun will eventually grow old a die .we can't change that fact .

rather than seeing the king of the north as the final opponent of god’s people, i propose that daniel 11 points to a completely different figure.

while the watchtower society focuses on the struggle between these two kings, they overlook a third entity mentioned in verse 40, but let’s ready this verse first from the new world translation.

Biblical scholars have Daniel written around 165 BCE so written after many of the events recorded so not a book of prophecy.

So it has no meaning for us today.

Further Crisis looming for JW org re Safeguarding ?

(prof. alexis jay).. "i think it's absolutely necessary because church safeguarding as it stands falls below the standards of secular organisations, and i do not think that can continue when it has also led to such serious weaknesses," she told the bbc..

Self policing should not be a option for members of the churches and other organisations, they failed to protect the victims and by not reporting to the proper authorities and covering the abuse and denying that they knew anything should disqualify them. Staying in a religion or organisation that covered up the abuse is almost like giving tacit support .one of the reasons I could no longer remain a jw when I was made aware of the Australian royal commission.

Safeguarding officers should be truely independent and have no association with the organisations involved.

Why not make these religions and organisations fund the safeguarding officers .

The gospel of Luke was written around 80ce by a unknown author and to make his account seem a genuine account he includes this statement about wolves in sheep's clothing,

There were many jesus stories going around at this time by other authors with possible claims that their version was the true one .

So just like there are many versions and beliefs of jesus today each claiming includeing jws that they have the true version and they each say that the others are wrong and trying to mislead people today

They all can't be right but they all can be wrong.

Anyone claiming that they have the true religion is are wolves in sheep's clothing,that is anyone who manipulates and coercive people to follow their beliefs that they invented as true.

It's happens in every walk of life, religion, politics end even among members of your own family and friends.

Do children still get destroyed at Armageddon?

i know back in the day, that was taught, that if the parents were going to be destroyed, so would the children.

i just can't easily find reference to anything.

this thinking has been used to justify some egregious behavior towards children and their parents such as exclusion of children from jw family - why worry, the end is near, all will work itself out then - the end didn't come though.

No wonder why our parents were so hard on us when we were kids ,dragging us to meeting and ministry as though there life depended on it .
